Backup Internet Software
If you're looking for backup internet software, I can share
with you the one I use.
The best part is, you can get the free trial and see if my choice is
the one you prefer as well.
Automatic
The backup source I have listed is fully automatic after the
initial configuration..
My choice was Mozy for several reasons.
- The program
they have is small and easy to use. It is completely
customizable.
- They offer 2GB of data for free to get you
started which you can use as long as you want.
- If you decide you need more room for more files, you
can upgrade to a very reasonable monthly fee which is then unlimited.
This is what I am currently using as my backup software.
- Lastly, the restore is just as
easy as the initial setup.
How To Use Backup Internet
Software Mozy
To get started with your online backup, at the least you need to sign
up for a free account at Mozy
, once you have that finished,
follow the steps below.
- Step 1
- Fill in your information and download the free trial.
- Step 2
- Answer all the questions when you start the install. Once
you get to the point where it suggests your first backup, you can
either leave the default, or select the files you would like to backup.
- Step 3 -
When prompted, choose expert setup unless you went with the default.
Choose all the file locations you want to backup.
If you have a slower internet connection I recommend
breaking the backup up into pieces until your backup is complete.
- Step 4
- Once you are finished the initial setup, you'll get to a screen
similar to the one below. The file system tab is where you
can change your system settings at any time to update your backup
volume settings.
TIP!
The initial backup will
take some time, since you are playing catch up. Run this
about an
hour before you want to go to bed, this way your backup can run
overnight, and won't interrupt your regular computer work.
Restoring Files
The restore function with Mozy is also an easy one.
Simply
click on the restore tab, which will show up to the right of history
after your initial backup. Select the file or files you would
like to restore and you're good to go.
