Hi Dave! Just purchased 3 units of Dell 546 desktops today. This unit has very good reviews, and your recommendation has helped a lot.
Thank you so much and I look forward to my kids enjoying their new PCs!!

A more specific question, Dave. I'm confused if we really need an E7500 processor over an E5300 (or any related processor to Studio or 546 desktop), and/or change a 2gig RAM to 4gig. Here's where I get stuck when customizing my order.

Inspiron 545s not available in US by: Maria
Hi Dave,
Thanks for your suggestion. I took it seriously, thought about it, and clicked your link for the 545s so many times until I was ready to buy - only to realize the store was in Canada, and the 545s is not available in the US anymore. :(
I wonder why?
Do you have any other suggestions? I tried Dell chat and the guy recommended 546 and Studio desktop. Can you guide me on what processor and stuff to choose for a good PC for my teenagers/college students' purpose?
Thanking you as usual.

If you're buying a PC from Dell you will get something that works well. They are a really good vendor. When looking at what PC to buy from them, here's a general guideline.
Look for an Intel Processor, and Windows 7 Home Edition. The rest of the components will be well matched. If you stay away from the Intel Celeron processor, I wouldn't worry about buying from Dell. Their support is really great, and they aim to please.
I did take a look at the Dell Inspiron 546 , it's a great choice for you, they are throwing in the 4GB ram upgrade for free as well I noticed.
