If you see your computer is taking more than the normal time for boot, then this may be a reason. Now a days, all the Motherboards are coming with multiple SATA ports for SATA drives, Make sure that your hard disk data cable is connected to lowest SATA port first. You can check this through the motherboard manual or in the CMOS setup.

You bring up a good point Gopalakrishnan. Some of the motherboards today come with multiple controllers. By using the lowest SATA 0 or 1 before SATA 4 may actually put your hard drive onto a different controller. Keep this in mind when building a computer.
If your motherboard comes with multiple SATA controllers, using the lowest SATA number first can get you better performance. Most of the time, the connectors on the board are color coded as well to let you know which controller controls which bank of SATA devices.
If you're ever unsure if you have multiple controllers, check the manual or the manufacturer's website to find more information.
